Welcome Home, bb is a large-scale interactive installation that takes an intimate look into the living space inhabited by my digital persona, bb, through a series of mixed media objects resembling household items. The series includes a bed, a TV, a desktop computer, food, a doll, and a video intercom system and incorporates strategically placed cameras and video displays to create a maximalist experience of a physical home resembling the “junkspace” of the internet. Through active participation, Welcome home, bb explores our increasingly hybrid existence across physical and digital environments and contemplates the ways we negotiate our privacy, corporeality, attention, and identity.
